Placing an Order

We are happy to provide a quotation for your records and to use as part of your purchasing request.
You may place your order via fax, eMail, mail, or with our SECURE Online Order Form trusted by GeoTrust

We accept Purchase orders, or you may charge your order Visa, Discover, PayPal, MasterCard or American Express. We request that business purchases be made with a credit card or approved purchase orders. We will confirm your order and record your credit card information at that time. Your card will not be charged until your products ship.

Orders should include the following information:
Model number, description (including size and finish) and quantity of each item.
Shipping address (and billing address if different), contact name and telephone number.
If you have any special receiving hours or service requirements include that information too.

Shipping

Generally our accessories and chairs ship via UPS.

Our carts, tables, and cabinets ship via common carrier truck. These products ship on a pallet. Shipping is FREE for dock-to-dock or tailgate deliveries. Some deliveries may incur a delivery surcharge if they are to a gated community, island, NYC or a limited access location. If you are unsure - let us provide a quotation for you to make sure you do not incur any unnecessary charges.

If you do not have a dock, your assistance is required to unload your furniture from the truck or curb side. If you do not have a loading dock, and you need assistance, please let us know so that we can see what delivery options you may want to consider. These arrangements must be made PRIOR to shipment. Generally it is the most cost effective to have a couple people available to take the furniture into your building and to your desired location. With a couple people and a little bit of effort you can save money and be finished in no time.

Inside the door delivery is available with prior arrangements and a service fee.

Our carts and cabinets ship fully assembled and boxed on a pallet. Once you cut the straps and remove the carton you are ready to roll them to your desired location. Our science tables ship partially assembled and most other tables ship RTA Ready to Assemble. Boxes ship stacked on a pallet. Each table is in an individual box that can be transported inside one at a time.

Receiving Your Order

When receiving your order please INSPECT CARTONS CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING SHIPPING FORMS. If you see damage or the cartons appear to have "concealed" damage, make a comment on the shipping papers. If possible take a photo immediately. This will expedite any claim that may be necessary - but you MUST make a note on the shipping papers before the driver leaves.

We have excellent relationships and track records with our shipping companies. Our products are well protected by shipping on pallets with packing protection. It is your responsibility to inspect the cartons for any signs of possible damage. If you see something that looks like it could be damaged NOTE DAMAGE on the shipping form before signing. Without this notation it makes reimbursement very difficult or impossible from the shipping company. If you do see damage or possible damage it is very helpful to snap a few pictures. The driver will wait for you to get a camera. Call us asap and we will make sure you get what you need.

The RTA cartons are strapped individually and can be taken to your room for assembly while packed in their cartons. The carts and cabinets are fully assembled and it's easiest to unwrap them from the carton, sit them up and roll them to your destination. Make sure the wheels are all in the unlocked position.

Setup and Assembly

Our tables include easy to follow assembly illustrations and written directions. If you have any questions during the assembly, just give us a call and we'll walk you through your question. The quality design and metal to metal fastening system make the tables very easy to put together.

We offer assembly service in most USA cities if you prefer. We can provide a quotation to you for that option and handle scheduling the assembly for you. All of our tables include levelers for rock solid installation. Taking the few extra minutes to level your table adds the extra stability you will appreciate. Most of our notebook, media carts and cabinets ship fully assembled and are ready to get to work for you.

Final Thoughts

We'd love to hear from you! Please let us know your thoughts, suggestions etc. If you have a photo (with or without a caption/plug for your school or business) we will add it to our website. THANK YOU!

Terms and Definitions

LAMINATE:

You may hear many names when referring to laminate. Formica, for example is a brand name for laminate like Kleenex is a brand name for a tissue. There are several brands of laminate but there are two types of laminate. Melamine laminate and Hi-Pressure laminate. Read on to see the similarities and differences between the two types of laminate. This term is often misused when referring to surface material. (Often buyers are not aware of the difference because catalogs tend to be vague in their description). Assume competitors products are melamine laminate unless specifically termed as hi-pressure laminate, not just laminate. Both laminates have the same wear characteristics. The difference between the two is that hi-pressure incorporates a phenolic backer.

MELAMINE LAMINATE:

The color or patterned paper that is bonded directly to the particle board core on both sides with the use of resins, heat and pressure. This material is peal and chip resistant.

HI-PRESSURE LAMINATE:

The color or patterned paper that is bonded to a phenolic resin backer sheet. Mechanically applied with heat and pressure. The 1/16 thick phenolic backer material then applied to particle board. This is more impact resistant and slightly more expensive than the melamine.

PHENOLIC BACKER:

Acts as an under laminate for use with hi-pressure laminate to provide additional buffer to add impact resistance. It is many layers of paper that are compressed and bonded with the resin laminate.

Chemsurf - Chemical Resistant Laminate:

Constructed of 1" industrial grade particle board core and laminated with a chemical resistant laminate (such as chemisorb) and a phenolic backer using a moisture and heat resistant PVA adhesive, MDF or plywood are optional. All sides are banded with an impact resistant 3MM PVC and all edges and corners rounded Chemical resistant laminate is suitable for all K-12 laboratory situations. Cannot be used in areas with high acid concentrations.

Phenolic Resin:

Constructed of ¾" thick phenolic resin core with a chemical resistant surface. All edges and corners are beveled. A ½" drip groove is routed at bottom. Water and heat resistant. Suitable for use in K-12 laboratory applications and other surfaces not requiring maximum acid resistance.

Solid Epoxy Resin:

Solid epoxy resin tops are individually molded 1" thick with low sheen Black Onyx color. Table work surfaces shall have integrally molded ½" radius edges and 1½" radius corners. Suitable for use where maximum concentrations of acid are used. Water and heat resistant.

Durasurf ™:

Durasurf tops from CartWrite offer acid resistance characteristics similar to solid epoxy. The core material is 1" MDF and is coated on top, bottom and all edges with an epoxy powder coated finish, The finish is applied at a density of 3-5 mm thickness for maximum acid and scratch resistance. The top includes integrally molded 1.2" edge radius and 1½" rounded corners. Durasurf™ is suitable for use in K-12 laboratory applications. Acid resistance and performance specifications are available upon request.

EDGE BANDING:

A material adhered to all exposed edges for moisture resistance purposes and appearance. Edge banding is applied with pressure and glue for a durable seal.

3mm PVC EDGE BANDING:

Attractive heavy duty plastic PVC material on the front edges of the work surface for the purpose of added durability and comfort. It is applied with a heated adhesive to create a permanent bond to the surface material. Eliminates potential for students ability to pick it apart like T-molding.

T-MOLDING:

This is NOT used on CartWrite products. T-molding is vinyl material that has a lip which fits into a groove in the edge of the work surface. It is pushed onto the edge, not glued. This is a likely area for students to pick apart.

PARTICLE BOARD:

The internal or core board used to which the laminate is applied.

CONNECTING BRACKET:

A 3½ x 5 metal plate that is screwed on to the under surface of each end of every component for rock solid stability and strength. Two connecting plates are standard with each component at no additional cost. (Other manufactures add-on up to $15.00 for each pair of brackets).

LEVELERS:

Adjustable hardware on the bottom of the metal legs and side panels to ensure a level working surface. Each leveler can be adjusted approx. ½ to level tables even on uneven floors.

MODESTY PANEL:

A panel that provides consideration for personal leg privacy and contributes to the structural support to the desk components (included in CartWrite pricing, not an add-on).

BACK PANEL:

Provides structural integrity and style and leg privacy.

FLIP-TOP CABLE TROUGH:

A Prime Station feature which incorporates a convenient hinged panel revealing an ample 7x10 storage area for wires and power strips. Wires then neatly flow to the next component via 2¼ grommets in the side panels.

CABLE RACEWAY:

A simple, but effective plastic channel that is attached to the undersurface of any desk for the purpose of neatly routing cables when a minimum of cable management is needed.

FREE STANDING COMPONENTS:

Our tables and components all work as free standing computer work stations including the rectangular tables, the Corner work stations and the CPU / Printer Cabinet. They are also all compatible and modular, in that they can be combined with each other as well as the Printer Bridge, and the 90° Corner. This feature provides great flexibility for arrangement and rearrangement of furniture as teaching and technology dictates.

MODULAR COMPONENTS:

All components can be configured in rows, pods, L-shapes, etc. in any combination. Modular components allow you to create clusters of work spaces in all varieties of configurations. The modular components also utilize your space around corners, data poles, and other obstructions that would otherwise be wasted space.

Metal to Metal Fastening Systems -
CAM and DOWEL FASTENING SYSTEM:

The quality metal to metal assembly system used to join two panels. (no glue is required, metal to metal is easy to assemble and provides assembly strength) A metal connecting dowel screws into the surface of the first panel, and is inserted into the edge of the second panel which contains the metal cam. The panels are joined when the connecting dowel is tightened into the cam using allen wrench or screwdriver.

CONNECTING SCREW and BARREL NUT:

The quality metal to metal assembly system used to join two panels. (No glue is required, metal to metal is easy to assemble and provides assembly strength) The connecting screw goes through a panel into the edge of another panel containing the barrel nut. The panels are joined when the connecting screw is tightened into the barrel nut with an allen wrench.
